Principal's Message

Dear PCE parents, guardians, family and friends,

Welcome to Pioneer Crossing Elementary!! At PCE, we are all about #pceunity, which means we all do whatever it takes for our students to succeed. We aim to be a very collaborative and engaging campus, involving parents, students, teachers and the community in student's learning. We have approximately 630 students from 27 different nationalities, speaking 17 different languages.

Our main focuses revolve around project-based learning (PBL), PBIS (positive behavior and intervention supports), and data-driven decision making. We are also an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) campus, which provides students the skills necessary to succeed in school, toward college readiness. 100% percent of our teachers are highly qualified in their field and all teachers are PBL trained. Project-based learning allows our students to discover learning and find solutions to real-world problems. Our students develop close to 200 projects a year!

Over the last two years we have seen tremendous progress at PCE. We have earned the school's first three Distinction Designations, from TEA, in the last two years. We have also won the district UIL competition the last two years and our GT program has won a city-wide (Austin) competition for designing Cities in Space, two years running. Our campus has enjoyed study tours from other schools and educators from around the country, who come to learn from our teachers and students about project-based learning. And, the future looks just as bright moving forward. We are in communication with the New Tech Network to become one of the first New Tech schools in Texas.

At PCE we continue to push the envelope to enhance our student's learning and growth. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
